I know how to forecast severe weather, but what I would like to know is what do you think the best model to use when forecasting convective? I generally like the NAM. It provides quicker data to some extent I believe, not only that, but it shows the data in a more clear mannor. Often times I will use a blend of NAM and GFS, or when updating an outlook during the day, I will use RUC/NAM.

What model do you think would be best to forecast convective wx?

All depends on whats the range ur forecasting for... If the event is already in progress then I personally have to go with the RUC models, thus they are hourly model runs. I will also use NAM during that period as well.. But when forecasting like a day in advice i use a mixutre of NAM/GFS. All depends to on the Forecaster.
